The Butterfly Keyboard Issue on the MacBook

The Butterfly keyboard is an issue with some models of the MacBook. It’s thought to be linked to dust, crumb, and small particulate exposure, and heat issues. Apple has said that a small percentage of Mac users have experienced problems with the butterfly keyboard, but the high profile of the issue has led some to believe that this is a widespread problem. Despite this fact, the issue affects any Mac with a butterfly-style key layout.

While the new Butterfly Keyboard looks much sexier than the previous generation, the new one is more fragile. This is because the membrane is clear instead of the old white plastic. The metal dome over the keys has also been changed to reduce the risk of damage or breakage. While the changes aren’t permanent, they are significant enough to improve the quality of the keyboard. But if you have an older machine with the old style of butterfly keyboard, you’ll need to purchase a new one.

The Butterfly keyboard is similar to the previous version of the MacBook Pro. Apple designed it as an alternative to standard keyboard switches, which are loud and bulky. Although the traditional switches are cheaper, they’re still quite thick and bulky. The downside of this type of switch is that it’s not portable and takes up more space. If you’re using a laptop, a larger, bulkier butterfly keyboard won’t fit into a laptop bag. It would also weigh a ton.
